Door Hardware :

  • Take photos of the inside, outside and edge of door and inside of door frame (showing the metal plate). Get measurements of door thickness and backset (distance from the edge of the door to middle of the hole) and size of the hole(s).  We need to know the measurement of the stile (flat surface where the door knob is actually mounted). If there are 2 holes, give us the measurement from center to center of the 2 holes.
  • Tell us if there is any glass, molding or insets on the door.
  • If you have multi point hardware, we need to know the name of the door manufacturer and the manufacturer of the mechanism.
  • Supply a count of how many you need and the handing (which way does the door open). Note which side the hinges are and does it swing towards or away from you.
  • If you need hinges, bring us the door height, thickness and the aprox weight as well as if you have a wood or metal frame. If replacing existing hinges,  bring in a template showing size, radius of the corner and hole pattern – or better yet-bring in one of the old hinges.
